Major Enhancement Notification
COMING SOON! New User Interface The User/Web Interface redevelopment project is nearing completion and has an expected release date by late May. Most of 2008 focused on the back-end structure and functional enhancements. Highlighted releases in 2008 included:
- Unicode Compliance (Internationalization)
- Field Level Help on Standard Forms
- Active Delays & Gates Dashboards
- Improved Search Capabilities
- Enhanced Proxy Settings
2009 has been spent on finishing the Web 2.0 look and feel. The project's goal was to enhance the user experience while providing a technical structure we could build upon for future improvements. User Experience: Overall the entire user interface has been modernized, including the navigation, forms, and task list views. Highlights include improved graphics, the ability to retract the left-side Process List and Multi-Format Task List options (original, single line user, single line supervisor, printer friendly). We could describe it in detail, but it is probably best to just take a look. Click the links below to view sample images. Single Line Task List with Process List Exposed Dual Line Task List with Process List Retracted Standard HighOrbit Task/Form Technology Overview: IT professionals will be interested in the environment. The new user/web interface utilizes database driven Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). Adopting CSS meant we immediately benefited with cleaner code, faster page loads, and better accessibility. Most importantly it provides limitless creativity with respect to future user interface development. It will even provide clients and partners the ability to design there own interface. You can learn more about CSS by visiting W3 Schools at http://www.w3schools.com/Css/default.asp Future Enhancements: This release does not mean all user interface development is completed. Additional features and enhancements are planned over the next 12 months. Some of the major ones to note:
- Admin Wizards for Company, User, and Custom Calendar Set-up
- Tabbed Forms (organize your data elements on user-defined tabs)
- Quick Launch Folder for Manual Start Processes
- Improved Pagination in Search Details
- Exports based on Search Results
- Calendar Task View
