Global ASP signs with HighOrbit

HighOrbit Corporation has signed Global ASP of Cape Town, South Africa as a Certified Solution Provider (CSP) for HighOrbit Business Process Management (BPM). In this capacity, Global ASP will represent HighOrbit and handle client workflow automation needs in South Africa, with a focus on the retirement funds industry.

"HighOrbit presents Global ASP with the opportunity of standardizing its BPM model. In addition, the time-frames within which it can be deployed are attractive" said Abraham Meyer of Global ASP. "HighOrbit proved its value in its ease of use and deployability to our clients in very short turnaround times."

Global ASP considered a number of BPM solutions before selecting HighOrbit. HighOrbit was chosen for its ease of use, as well as its ability to fully arm Global ASP with the knowledge and systems needed to be self sufficient with the application, thus eliminating dependence on third parties for implementation and add-ons. Meyer also added that "HighOrbit afforded Global ASP the opportunity to 'speak the client's language' by allowing sales people, business analysts and developers, through the use of flow diagrams, to understand and compare the before and after processes."

BPM Standards Update

It has been nearly four years since we last wrote about the so called BPM Standards.  If you recall, we questioned their value and intent.  From our inception, we have defied the standards; preferring a path focused on customer driven enhancements not standards development.

Our opinion of the standards have not changed and the fact no single standard still exists supports that opinion.  Unfortunately, simply questioning their value is no longer the main issue.  How they may be negatively impacting competition and growth within the BPM market has become a more legitimate concern.

You can read our brief blog article, "BPM Standards Update - The Cost of Compliance" by visiting http://www.highorbit.com/blog/240-bpm-standards-update-2011.
