2012 Major Enhancements Released
With a mature system such as the HighOrbit BPM, nearly all development is customer driven. We are thankful our customers take an active role in improving the system. Below is a highlighted list of enhancements released to start 2012 off on a positive note. A full list of enhancements can be reviewed on our release notes page.
Task Tracking
- Complete Task Assignment History (username, date, time)
- Original Due Dates (stored & displayed on overdue escalations)
- Task Completion Timing (assigned date/time, completion & duration)
- Stored for display in Search Detail screen
Definable Password Policy & Complex Formats
- Minimum length
- Alpha, numeric, symbol requirements
- Disallow reuse of passwords
- Self configurable for self-hosted installations.
Company Branding
- CSS/Style Sheets added to increase flexibility of system branding beyond basic logo and colors
- Company definable style-sheet to change page layout
Searching
- Exact Search Option. Speeds up searches by overriding default "wildcard" search
- Search details now include Task Summary and a detailed Task History
- All Task statuses shown in separate section
Process Designer
- Task/Form properties now include ability to change both background and text colors. Darker backgrounds with lighter text are now possible.
- Manual Start Advanced Settings. Edit default delays for processes that do not generate an initial task.
Technical
- DB Lookups, Update DB, and Web Service design actions now run in their own queue to increase system performance.
2012 Development Plans
Customer driven development will continue throughout 2012. Some items are made possible by the implementation of the enhancements listed above as we expand upon the basis of their features and capabilities.

Due Date Grace Period: Definable Period Before Overdue Escalation
Multi-Action (Expression) Decision: Define Decision Steps Beyond the Standard Yes/No
Tabbed Forms: Define and Separate Data Elements onto Multi-Tabbed Standard HighOrbit Forms
Advanced External Datasource: Access to User Lists, Process Lists, Groups, Open Tasks, Task & Process Instance Statistics
