Welcome to the Spring 2006 HighOrbit Newsletter. In this issue you will find information on recent product additions, the 2nd Quarter software release schedule, our Web Services Beta program, upcoming training seminars, and information on our software update notification system. Read on for more information.


Recent Feature Additions

ImageHighOrbit is excited to announce a number of major new enhancements to HighOrbit Workflow. Most of these are due to customer feedback, and as always, we strive to keep our feature set up-to-date with the needs of our users.

By popular request, we have added the ability to populate drop-downs in forms from information in a database. Now you can generate lists, checkboxes, or radio buttons based on information obtained from a database query. Please ask your Process Specialist for information on setting up the proper data sources, and for examples on how to use this new feature.

Other notable enhancements include:
· Better organization of menus· ability to pass document data types into and out of sub-processes
· More expression functionality for line item table data manipulation· SMTP authentication
· A Server Administrator "Dashboard" screen· A "Last Task Completed By" expression
· Better international date formatting· A RSS feed for pulling down task lists
· Complex formulas in line item table calculations· A Web Post action to access external web sites
· Ability to add or subtract fractional units in date calculations· Increased file upload size limit


Self-hosted Software Release Schedule

ImageThe next release date for the self-hosted version of HighOrbit Workflow is scheduled for April 28, 2006.

If you are hosting HighOrbit Workflow on-site and have an up-to-date maintenance agreement, we will send a separate notice with instructions for downloading and installing the software update.


Upcoming Training Seminars

HighOrbit is pleased to announce two upcoming training seminars to be held in the St. Louis, Missouri area.

Wednesday, June 14, 2006 8:30 - 5:00
Custom Web Form Development: Covers basic and advanced custom web form development. Includes mapping HTML form fields to workflow data elements and covers some workflow engine API functionality. With these skills, you will be able to create advanced forms that provide functionality above and beyond the generic input form.

Thursday, June 15, 2006 8:30 - 5:00
Advanced Database Integration: Shows how to get the most out of your external database connection. Covers best practices of integrating a datasource into your workflow.

Each of the above seminars is one day (8:30 - 5:00) in duration and available at a cost of $500 per person.

Software Update Notification System

HighOrbit has recently begun implementing an automated software enhancement notification system. For those of you that wish to be kept up to date on changes made to the hosted web service, we will provide a number of methods to receive timely notification. Web Services Beta Program

Because many of our customers have been requesting Web Service integration, we have begun a Web Services Beta Program. Web Services allow for easier integration between HighOrbit Workflow and many other platforms such as Java and .NET. If you are a developer interested in integration with the HighOrbit Workflow engine, please contact our development group at the link below.
