System Requirements

Cloud-Based (Hosted) Accounts
The HighOrbit Workflow Automation system is written in Java and utilizes a relational SQL database. It is hosted on a Unix-based web server in order to provide maximum speed, reliability and security.  The recommend minimum requirements are…

  • Any workstation/device with a browser and Internet access. System is accessed through a secured login and password. IE10+, FireFox, Safari, or Chrome recommended.
  • Broadband Internet connection is recommended.


On-Premise (Self Hosted) Systems

When an organization prefers to self-host HighOrbit Workflow Automation system, the following requirements are recommended.

Server(s):

  • 2GHz Processor, 4GB RAM or better for Workflow Engine, Database and Web Server(s). These can be split among machines when necessary.
  • Windows XP, 2003/2008 Server, Vista, Windows 7, Solaris, Redhat (Recent Versions), Mandriva (Recent Versions)
  • Disk Space: 1GB for Web Server, 5GB for Workflow Engine, plus Database storage
Supported Databases:
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2008+
  • MySQL 5.1
Admin/Designer Workstation:
  • 1GHz CPU, 1GB RAM or better
  • Windows, Unix, MAC
  • Java 1.7.0 or later
  • IE10+, FireFox, Safari, Chrome
  • Internet Connection (TCP/IP ports 6051 and 6052)

Web Client:

  • Any Web Enabled Computer (PC, MAC, Unix, terminals)
  • IE10+, FireFox, Safari, Chrome

 

Data Center Specifications

HighOrbit utilizes two redundant data centers in geographically separate parts of the United States and United Kingdom.  All data centers are SSAE-16 Compliant.

  • Multiple / redundant backup power and generators
  • Redundant cooling systems
  • Multiple / redundant backbone Internet connections (Cogent, AboveNet, Savvis, Verio, Wiltel, XO)

  • Limited physical access to server hardware
  • 24 / 7 security guards
  • 24 / 7 personnel on site (reboot / power cycle servers)
  • 99.9% service level agreement
  • New machines can be online in under 30 minutes
  • Routers and data center software protect against denial of service attacks
  • Redundant DNS
Data Security:
  • All workflow data and state information stored in a database
  • Exact state of workflow can be rebuilt by restoring only database
  • All data continuously replicated between data centers
  • Data snapshots retained for seven days
  • Daily backups, maintained for six months
  • Data backed up to redundant sites
  • Backups stored off site and in bank vault
  • Hardware and software firewalls utilized
